Stein's Diners is the event room in the basement of Café Stein at Schottentor: space for up to 100 guests, in-house equipment with projector, microphone and music, catering from the house kitchen from canapés to buffet. Suited to company parties, Christmas parties, birthdays, graduation parties and small weddings. Request via the form, reply usually within one working day.

What Stein's Diners is made for

Company and Christmas parties

A room of your own with bar, projector and microphone for speeches, a look back at the year and a buffet. Your team arrives by underground, tram and bus right at the door.

Birthdays and anniversaries

From the welcome drink to the dance floor in one room, with music over the house system and food from canapés to buffet.

Graduation and university parties

The main building of the University of Vienna is seven minutes away on foot, the NIG and the Juridicum five. After the ceremony, walk over to the Stein.

Weddings and receptions

For small weddings and the reception after the ceremony: up to 100 guests at Stein's Diners; for smaller parties we reserve tables in the café.

    Occasion, preferred date, number of guests and a few words about your plans, via the form below or by phone.

  2. Receive a proposal

    We get back to you with a proposal for the schedule, catering and equipment, non-binding and usually within one working day.

  3. Celebrate

    You confirm, we take care of the room, the kitchen and the equipment. On the night itself, all you have to do is come.

Frequently asked questions about parties at Stein's Diners

How many guests can Stein's Diners take?
Up to 100 guests. Smaller parties of up to about 30 people often prefer the café upstairs; we reserve tables for that.
How much does it cost to hire Stein's Diners?
That depends on the occasion, the day of the week, the number of guests and the catering. Send us your key details and you will receive an offer, usually within one working day.
What equipment is available?
A projector, microphone and music system come with the room. Tell us what you have in mind (presentation, DJ, live music) and we will sort out the details in advance.
How does the catering work?
The food comes from the Café Stein kitchen: from canapés and finger food to a buffet with Viennese classics, vegetarian and vegan dishes. Allergens are labelled as on the menu.
Can I hold a graduation party at Stein's Diners?
Yes. The main building of the University of Vienna is seven minutes away on foot, the NIG and the Juridicum five. After the ceremony, walk over to the Stein where the party is ready.
How do I get there, and how do guests get home?
U2 Schottentor, trams D, 1, 71 and 37 to 44, buses 1A and 40A stop at the door; at night the N41 and N43 run. The café is open until 1 am from Thursday to Saturday.
